Helga Weippert Prize of the German Society for the Exploration of Palestine
In 2022, the German Society for the Exploration of Palestine is awarding the Helga Weippert Prize for outstanding dissertations or habilitations in the fields of the archaeology, history, religion, culture and regional studies of Palestine for the first time. The prize is endowed with €2,000. It serves to promote young scientists in German-speaking countries and is named after the biblical archaeologist and Old Testament scholar Helga Weippert (1943-2019).
